Roumen Skorchev

1932 Born in Targovishte
1952-1957 Studied and graduated as a landscape architect
1958-1964 Studied and graduated from the Academy of fine arts in Sofia
1984 Granted the title professor at the Academy of fine arts in Sofia

Since 1969 has taken part in international biennials, triennials and international exhibitions of print, drawing, painting and illustration of printed book.

Winner of over 40 international and national awards.

1970 The Golden Medal from the second international etching biennial in Florence
1972 & 1984 The special award for book illustrations, Bulgaria
1973 The Golden Plate from the IV international biennial on illustrations in Bratislava
1974 The Grand Medal from the IV international triennial on drawings in Wroclav
1974 & 1987 The special annual prize for print in Bulgaria
1979 The special prize for drawing in Bulgaria
1982 The award of the jury at the international biennial on print in Listovel, Ireland
1989 First prize from the international biennial of print in Varna, Bulgaria

Silver medal from the international book exhibition in Leipzig

Works of the artist are in posession of numerous musea, galleries and private collections.
